I first met Shannon at this amazing little adoption mom support group in the area. Then through mutual friends she heard about my adoption photography special that I do and signed herself up for the next available slot. I knew the Chandlers were a larger family than what I was used to, but I absolutely loved every second hanging out with this bunch at Trinity Park in Fort Worth. Their boys are charming and their girls are precious (I mean look at that sister love going on!). I can't wait to see this family develop over the years! Here's to you Chandler crew!
Adoption | Growing the Jones Family
The Jones are probably one of the most loving, caring, & joyous couples you could ever meet, and to top it all off they now have quite an adorable little boy. Nick & Sam decided that it was time to make their family of 2 grow by one more and started down the path of domestic adoption (domestic = US). Not long into their journey, they were selected and hurried through the whirlwind of paperwork, red tape, and mandatory government delays to reach the other side to their baby boy. This sometimes long process took these guys less than 5 months and now here they are. I love that I was welcomed to partake in a piece of their story with all of it's warmth and laughter. Here are a few of my favorites from the session that best tell of their first days as Mom & Dad!
Focus | Adoption
Once my husband and I decided to start down the road of adoption, the heartwarming stories came rushing in. The moments where God's miracles took center stage to a global puzzle of connecting this family and that child and all the wondrous and character building events that took place to make it happen. That's all we heard. We researched beyond that, and our heads knew what trials were to come beyond our first steps of commitment. Like anything else, however, your head knowledge will only get you so far before your heart begins to uncover lessons you couldn't even dream of.
While we are still in the beginning stages of our journey, many have crossed the finish line, some time and time again, and so some celebrating is in order. And with that, I'd like to donate 1 mini session a month to feature an adoptive family that has their kid home. Feel free to contact me on behalf of yourself or a loved one with all the adorable details. If there is a particular month that marks a milestone that you would prefer, please share. I'm currently only in the DFW area, but feel free to join up with a group and we'll see what we can do :)
I may not be able to help with every process or take some of the burden, but I can help uplift and share in the memory that will be forever. Thanks for letting me contribute in your journey.
God Bless,
Sarah
